And the answer to it is 3.

BTW: I had lots of fun figuring it out.

Try harder it really tests your noggin. I nearly ended emptyhanded, I got hugely tested.

...and then I came up with 47. Good puzzle.

The sentence I posted "This Helpful Riddle Explains Everything" was in fact an addendum to the original riddle. The answer to "This Helpful Riddle Explains Everything" is 3. The answer the original riddle that was posted is of course 25.

That's really good, follows the same format but engages a certain degree of originality - I salute you!
