this is from an otb tournament game i should have lost. seeing as it's not composed there may be flaws, and as black played imperfectly i give you his moves:
...Kf8
...Qf3+
#
white to play, wins in 3
probably not hard as a puzzle, but it was a very exciting endgame 🙂
edit: oops, forget to title the thread!

2 R-G8+ KxR (Forced)
3 R-G1+ if K-f1, Bx H6+ wins queen
or 3 R-g1+ K-h8
4 B-C3+ Wins queen.
Originally posted by jorkoMephisto correctly gives Rg2# as white's third move, which must block check, and simultaneously discover mate. So, Bxh6 is the intermediate move.
1.Rxg7+ 1.Kf8
2.Re1g1 2.Qf3+
3.Rg1g2 then 3.Bxg2! is not mate i think.
sorry if i'm missing something.
edit: sonhouse, you have mate forced after 3.Kf8 Bxh6# which is probably better than the solution, as black doesn't have the option Re8xRe1 which gives white the queen but for a heavy price.
