1. correct road. He would answer yes so he says yes.

"Did you know they are giving away free beer in the golden city?"
After looking over my answer, I realized that my laziness might cost me a trip to the golden kingdom.
I must make my question conditional on the desired destination.
SO
"Which way would the other knight tell me to go if I asked him the way to the golden city?" (or wherever the hell we are supposed to be heading)
This stricter wording eliminates smartass answers.
