    A girl asks her mother's age and is told, Six years ago I was nine times your age. Now I am only three times your age.

    What are the present ages of the girl and her mother?

    Mother = 24
    Girl = 8

    So, six years ago would have been:
    Mother = 18
    Girl = 2

    The mum was either keen to start a family early or did not listen too closely to the preventative parts in sex education!

    Obviously correct!

    I noticed that the system stripped off the quotation marks.
