someone built a right big tube from earth out to space and opened it?

mmmmmmmmm no i don't believe so, because of air pressure, air would simply enter the tube, depressurize and then sit there. At least i believe so

    No, we woldn't.
Gravity holds the air back anyway, with tube or without.
How would a tube kill us? Do you have something in mind that I don't think of?

no but maybe a left big tube would do it

It would only kill people if there was a vacuum at the space end of the tube, to suck people into space.

Gravity holds the air down in our atmosphere.
Therefore small bodies, with weak gravitation, has no atmosphere, as our moon.
