    Of course just theory at this point in time but they think instruments are there already to verify or kill this idea.

    I wouldn't think so.
    In my knowledge wormholes in such a macro-environment are not stable phenomena.

    Sometimes you know, somtimes you don't, sometimes you think you know but don't.
    Scientific knowledge is never stable, it is always expanding and ever-changing.
