DNA ancestry/genealogical tests

I'm fascinated with what these DNA genealogical tests say they can do.

However, I wonder about the legitimacy of these commercial testing agencies. How legit can they be? Seems they could just take my money and I wouldn't know the difference no matter if they told me X or Y about my genetic ancestry.

Take tests from two independent companies and compare the results.
It might cost you though.
