Does any of this actually help stop voter suppression or gerrymandering? Probably zero effect on that kind of fraud.

Voter suppression is about voting rights, which is not affected by the voting system.

Ranked choice does make gerrymandering somewhat harder, because it reduces the number of "safe" seats that can be identified. A simpler, and more effective solution is to abolish voting districts altogether, although gerrymandering can also be effectively prevented by using non-partisan election commissions.

Believe it or not, the United States isn't the only country in the world. Look around a bit and you'll find some normally functioning nonpartisan election commissions.
