The name "the Event Horizon Telescope" makes it sound like its just one physical telescope but its actually a large number of physical ones positioned widely around the world acting together to make just one big virtual one.
No doubt the EHT will in due course confirm many of the predicted effects of relativity around black holes, including indirectly confirm the existence of frame-dragging which will in turn confirm the black hole has the property called 'spin'.
