    At first I thought it was just me. But, others are having the same problem. Despite the fact that the methods have not changed and we buy (as far as we know) the same kits as always, today's maxi-prep kits are yielding less and less plasmid DNA.

    WHY?!!!!

    Global warming.

    All steps should be performed chilled (on ice) except for the phenol/chloroform step(s) and the RNase incubation step (obviously!).
