    The announcement was just made, they discovered organic molecules in the dirt on mars, their first scoop in the analyzing chamber. The caveat is they want to make sure it is actually mars dirt because we have on Earth meteorites that came from mars via a large hit on mars throwing stuff out into space and some of mars landing on Earth. The same thing can happen in reverse, for instance, the Chixilub asteroid hit in Cancun 65 million years ago could have spread crap out into space and some of THAT hit mars. And then stuff from comets whacking mars could directly deposit organics and traces left in the dirt. So there are a lot of scenarios they have to eliminate before they decide the organics are actually martian in origin.

    THEN they will have a much stronger tale to tell. And that was just the first scoop!

    They said the probe's name is curiosity but it's middle name is patience.
