Tornadoes and hurricanes?

Just wondering who has been thru either of these and your experiance with it?

Never a tornado. but a water spout in a boat, and there was hurricane Katrina. Bout you?

In Galveston a tornado came thru the island and came thru our apartment complex. We lived on the end of a group of 6. The 3 on the other end were completely gone and it had a common attic, so my bedroom ceiling was sucked up and gone. This happened when I was about 6. I've had some really close calls later too with two missing my houses by about a half mile. Then I've been thru 4 major hurricanes with the last being in 83' with Alicia. I wasn't there for Ike but have a lot of friends that did..
