"Women’s brains are 'four years younger' than men’s, study finds
Analysis of metabolic brain age may explain differences in cognitive decline rate"

"Women’s brains are nearly four years younger than men’s, at least in
how they burn fuel, according to scans performed by US researchers.

Scientists found that healthy women have a “metabolic brain age” that
is persistently younger than men’s of the same chronological age.
The difference is apparent from early adulthood and remains into old age.

The finding suggests that changes in how the brain uses energy over
a person’s lifetime proceed more gradually in women than they do in men.
While researchers are unsure of the medical consequences, it may
help explain why women tend to stay mentally sharp for longer."

That can explain my mom's phone call the other day, she will celebrate 100 years this December.
She called to ask about the momentum given by photons when one strikes matter. And about solar sails using that effect, after reading a National Geographic article about light.

Your dad figured it out at age 96? Or am I misreading the study?

A 24 year old female has the same metabolic brain as a 20 year old male?

Where did you read anything about my dad? He was smart but nowhere near as smart as my mom. The 24 yo brain and the 20 yo brain is not what the study talks about. It is more like the 70 yo brain or the 60 yo brain they are talking about.

On average, women already live longer than men.
