It's taking over the forum threads, and it is ridiculously boring.
If it isn't someone pleading for recs, it someone moaning about how many recs they have or how many recs someone else has.
I'm sure it would save space on the server as well, as you could get rid of all the links to the recc'd topics etc etc.

Then, on one of my regular charitable visits to the local children's hospice, I met a terminally ill little boy.
He was very sick but was able to lean over and whisper a few words in my ear.
"I hope you get 100 recs," he said. "That would put a smile on my face."
