Ditto: I agree.

When you start to lose you stop playing at least one move a day to once every 3 or more days.
It would be better just to resign and move on to next game.

Perhaps but a cheap way to lose. Needless as well.

1 0 is just a good a starting point as 3 7. We are not mailing post cards here.

People working the time controls bevause they are in a losing position has been complained about more than once.

No problem I will just delete any challenges.

When people challenge you the time controls are not obvious. Now I just delete any challenges.

I remember in the olden days people has an icon about their prefered timing.

Seems it got lost in the last few years. Maybe because even palyer who set to daily moves didn't move dily in all games...and others complained.
Since you only have 12 games to fill (is that still so?) you can easily set open challenges each time you finish a game. Problem with unwanted challenges solved (you can also set the maximum number of games you want to play, so no unwanted challenges)

Or, verify the time control before accepting challenges.

You know, like what most cognizant adults do.

Yeah, not worth it. Challenges are just an inconvenience.

@Ghost-of-a-Duke

You could still change to longer settings. Perhaps allow an option for kinds of games a person will accept.
You want shorter settings, then you change to shorter settings. Stop trying to screw everyone else just because you can't play better.

It is the most popular because it is the default.
It is the most popular because people prefer it.

Need a definition of 'popular'?

So if you can't time people out easily, then you'll take your ball and go home?

Suit yourself.

I accepted this game. When he stopped playing for over a day I checked the time settings.

So I am stuck with this game and only play one game at a time. So for now on I will simply delete challenges from strangers.
