I comes up from time to time and I think initially Russ (site admin) was motivated for things like that (Rival, his chess engine has some implemented), but he stated that in the near future (6 months or more?) he has other plans. know about it to learn and have fun....

I play at www.itsyourturn.com
It has several variants. The site is okay, not great but okay.
www.atlanticchess.com also has several variants. I played a lot of progressive chess there which is not possible at www.itsyourturn.com

Edit: I would very much like it if progressive chess and dark chess were implemented here, then I would like to marry RHP :-)
Progressive Chess looks killer - will have to log onto atlanticchess and try it out. Surprised Silman hasn't advocated it as a means to improve one's ability to "create a fantasy position."
