How about a coaching area similair to the seige boards?
Players pay a fee and receive games to be played on coaching boards. The coaching can be done by PM during the game, discussing moves, tactics, etc.
The fees could go towards paying part of the subscriptions for the coaches and some towards the running costs of the site.
I have not yet thought of any more details, as it is now nearly 2 am and I need sleep.
