Live Text Rooms.

We actually did have exactly that, many years ago.

One of our members was a moderator on IRC chat, which was an online live text/chat room application. I think his username here was "Wolfman" if I remember right.
Anyway, he set up a private live chat room for RHP members only.

The problem with that was that those members who used the room had to comply with the rules of conduct that were established by the IRC Chat management.

What that mostly amounted to was that you had to be halfway civilized with your discussions with other RHP members who were having live text conversations in the room.

There were a few RHP members who were interested in broadcasting lots of heated and inappropriate personal drama issues between various RHP members, in that chat room, and they were just unable to follow the IRC CHAT behavior rules, and so the result was that after just a few days or maybe a week or two, the RHP chat room was completely shut down.

I think Russ even added a direct link to that IRC chat room from the RHP site at the time. (I suspect he will prefer not to even discuss that short-lived smudge in our RHP history.)

So in reply to your suggestion, all I can say is "Been There, Done That. Didn't even last long enough to have T shirts. 🙂 "

You refer to "the mods"

Who are these people that Russ would have to employ or for them to offer their services to moderate moronic / offensive / sexist / etc posts?
