Lowest Rating

There is a highest rating for tournament usage. How about a lowest rating for 30 days to show how your rating bounces around?

Can't you tell by the shape of the graph?

You could argue that for the highest too.

How about a Highest and a Lowest in the last 30 days - and then an average of the two to determine eligibility for the tournaments?

It still wouldn't stop good players from entering banded tourneys in a lower band than themselves just cos their rating has taken a dive over the past 30 days due to time outs, etc.

I understand that. However, there has to be a more effective system for the tournament entry, one which is less up for abuse.

How about a modification to that idea, then. A combination of current rating, highest rating in the last 30 days and highest ever rating?

This would prevent large amounts of timeouts to be less of a over-riding factor and allow past form to be considered too.
