New structure of the help section needed.
Why?
Too many users don't find the answes to their questions as the forums show! I think this part of the site needs to be especially user friendly.

FAQ should be closed.
Why?
1. Some people don't speak English well and don't know what this means. "I couldn't find it in the help section"
2. Some peaople speak English too well and look at the FAQ only and miss the rest of the help section. "I couldn't find it in the FAQ"
3. The FAQ has about 20 topics. It's not easy to read through all of this and if you skim through, you might miss your topic. "I couldn't find it in the FAQ"

My suggestion:
Make a few sections of the help forum only and easy to understand:
Do you have a questions about...
1. ... the rules of chess?
2. ... your games?
3. ... one of the symbols in the menu?
4. ... your settings?
5. ... subscribing? (This needs additional information abot alternative paying methods.)
6. ... Your question does not fit in those 5 categories?

I think this would make searching much easier.
If something should be covered by several questions a simple link should do it.

Which users?

From what I've read in the 'help forum', most questions are answered and even if they weren't, putting them in a sub-forum wouldn't make them more likely to be answered.

IMO

What is really needed is a sticky note at the top saying "read the FAQ".

Actually, that probably wouldn't help at all.

Why not just go the whole hog and implement something like this?

To me it looks like you have taken my sentence out of context. I was hardly talking about the help FORUM. Instead I suggested a change of the help MENU.
edit:
It looks like I used the words help section. By this I meant the help menu. Sorry about the confusion.

You are probably right, but one of my points was that some people ask their questins in the help forum, the tournament forum and the clan forum EVEN THOUGH they have read the FAQ.

Sorry, but when I make a serious suggestion in Site Ideas, this kind of humor is lost on me.

Anybody out there who agrees with my suggestions at least partly?
I guess those people that need a change of the help menu, haven't been here long enough to read the Site Ideas yet.
So I'm probably speaking for those who are unable to raise their voice still.

Sorry everybody!

I meant to suggest this about the HELP MENU and NOT about the HELP FORUM.
I can't even put it down to my bad Englisch.
