    Why not bring in facility where depending on the opponets move then i make a certain move. could run 2 or 3 deep even. could speed up boring patches no?

    I have played on Gameknot where the conditional moves possibility is very succesful. It works well in endings and when there is a forced mate. There had been some complaints from people who felt insecure and pressured by conditional moves, but they were few and most felt that it had a very positive effect. I believe that in 'real' correspondance chess, there is also the possibility of posting conditional moves.

    Try saying that when a bunch of tournaments start up and you have to respond to the same move 25 times in a row.
