How about the chess host messaging your clan whe a new thread has been started in the private forum?
Then you know that you are reaching those you intend to reach.
Its easy to forget the private forum is there when it isnt being used, and you cant really expect your clan to watch patiently until you have some news for them. If they were messaged when a topic came up, they would know they are not wasting their time checking a page with no aditional info.
It might make those who dont normally check the private forum to give it a look, thus feuling participation?

The answer to your question is, no i dont spend all day thinking up dumb ideas. I just saw a problem ( keeping clan members interested in a static forum) and posted it in the appropriate forum. (for once. . .i deserve that one)
They should create a "being a bit of a nob most of the time" forum, then at least we'd know where to get you 🙂
