I use chess.com for their chess puzzles. To be honest. The only reason I even tend to fly over there is for that one feature. Im sure plenty here to do the same. Would it be possible to implement a chess puzzles feature? User generated, database generated to start things off. Could be a subscriber only feature and would get my dollar for it.

recommended. Due to the simplicity of the idea (there are tons of puzzles out there and some people provide puzzles to talk about in chess only and puzzles fora.

Could also add just another stat to the profile page . Puzzles completed for example. For user generate puzzles, only those created off of games completed on RHP on course, other users could rate the puzzles on a 1-5 star rating system. And another stat haha: 5 star puzzles created. Under the actual puzzle section you could add daily puzzles and weekly 5 star puzzle winners. I dunno, really think it could add quite a bit to the experience here.

    Agreed.

    Rec'd.

I've often thought the first page was a minor turn off when you see
some of the final mates. Often it's half a chess set v a lone King.

However this one I saw on the front today was simple charming.

So why not kick off with a combination for the member/browser to
solve every time they hit the site.

    As Cartel and Ponderable mentioned.
Positions must come from games played on RHP
This will make them totally unique.

Now this need not be hard work for one poor hapless individual.

We can already post games (Community/Annotated Games) so if the boffins
can set up something similiar for positions (which will remain unseen but placed
in a queue) then everyone can take part.

I like the idea that everyone from 800-2300 can post a combo.
You are bound to get some unsound one's and this will buzz up the chess forum.

Also having the full game means players can see how the combination was shaped.
We can all solve them, it's getting the positions in the first place that is the hard part.

Also we might spot what we think is a better combo so again the
    forum takes a worthwhile hit.

Start off with one per day but if the queue gets massive then there is space
    for two daily combinations.

How about this for a layout?

    RHP Combination Of The Day.

To see the combination in action. Game 6578114

(note Black can actually go for the combo one move earlier, he had no
need to take the b3 Knight.)

    Rule 1:

Swiss Gambit is not allowed to post any combinations. He's a sadist.

I agree greatly. It used to be better when it was games in progress instead of mates, IMAO.

You do realise you've just volunteered, don't you?

That's one of the few forums that don't need buzzing up, though.

Bump. Good idea, hate to see this fade away.
