Recommend a thread

Some threads are very long and my patience is short. Some long threads are worth reading right through and some are certainly not. Would it be a good idea to be able 'recommend' a thread in some way?

Lets say there is a long thread and its boring but 5 people Recommend it.

Do you read the thread or not?

How do you feel about wasting time reading a thread that is boring?

I like the idea. There could be recommendations by category.

No long thread is worth reading through enirely as there are just too many distracting an noisy postings.

If anyone is too new to have been here in 2008, I'd recommend the Great 21st Century novel started March 4, 2008. It's a fun and long long read. Don't take it too seriously and don't get hung up on the distractions. The thread was amazing - in my opinion.
