I think all members should have the ability to issue a 3 day forum ban to a member of their choosing once per year. Much like owning a gun deters crime, so will this encourage decent behaviour.

S(h)ite Idea 'Expanded':
Perhaps the idea of a 'forum licence' for the public forum could be looked into, you post only where you have a licence to post !! Every licensed member could then instigate a three day ban for the member of their choosing...why not then further expand with individual 'classes' within the licence; naturally a 'spirituality forum' licence would be the cheapest...OR just make each separate forum category all the same price but one could build a collection of these licenses and people could then play chess AND collect, that sounds like genuine fun to me.
I suggest a modest price for these licenses, say $5 apiece...you pay for what you can afford, BUT each licence carries the privilege of a three day forum ban for that person of your choice. Collect them all and you can make all your banning recommendations from the forum of your choice. That person that annoys you most would be gone for at least a month of the year...and the site is 'enjoying' some added revenue...everyone's a winner !
Note: The club private forum can maintain the posting habits of members that don't pay up or are merely broke, being broke is no excuse...tell that to a copper when you have NOT licensed your car !!
I feel this 'idea' should keep all parties happy !

Add a Leper's Forum. If you get enough thumbs down, that's the only one you can access.

In the Leper's Forum, the person who gets the most thumbs up in a week is 'cleansed' and gets to go back to the usual forums.

Everyone should be able to one-day-ban anyone they like, but the banner's name and claimed justification has to be posted publicly. Then if it's misused the real mods can take away the banning privilege for an appropriate period, say 10 days for a first offence, 30 days, 90 days, forever.

Negative side, there would be some VERY unhappy little campers at RHP! 😉

Oh come on, the subscription here is little more than a 'donation'...the 'forum licence' idea is totally discretionary BUT if you want the ability to 'forum ban a PEST' then I suggest you support HoH's idea.
Perhaps $3 a licence \ forum sounds better...or four forum for a tenner ??

That is why I make a yearly suggestion of increasing the subscription fee. 😛

I don't believe HOH ever had a good idea, IMHO. 😉

Perhaps applying for a mod job would be quicker & more effecient...LOL...
