Quite a few of us have noticed that there's a new and irritating trend to create open invite games that can't be accepted by anyone (except perhaps Akizy), and to make a game name that advertises something.
All the 'ads' I've seen so far are things that have a place in the forums, and should stay there.
I'm not sure exactly HOW to prevent this, in fact I'd be grateful for any suggestions.
There's a thread on the topic in the Chess forum:
http://www.timeforchess.com/board/showthread.php?threadid=31888&page=1#post_508551
But I thought it was worthwhile mentioning it here as this an appropriate forum for suggesting modifications to the site.
One solution could be to not have names for open invite games. Do they really need them? Arguments for and against welcome.
Open invites will soon 'time out', which will go some way to help. (That is, they will be removed after a period of time.)
The latest batch of ads are mainly from one player, who has been wasting rather a lot of my time recently, so I was not too pleased to see he was responsible for this too.

Perhaps an open invite moderator would be an idea, somebody who would be willing to check every few hours whether any "bad" invites had been created, and they have the power to delete them, and reprimand the player involved.
But then again, the number of people willing to check every few hours would probably be in short supply.
