..how does a injured person learn to walk...with a crutch and a helper
in physical therapy....too much, much to much is made of "victory"....
is not the play of the riddle the delight of chess...it surely is not the
crushing of the truly weaker opponent and this is directed at the very
much weaker opponent and not among equals...no...you must all go
back one grade...you need the classroom of humility and empathy and i am taking away your playground time for being so cruel to your
classmates in life...when i say "no" i mean no and not maybe....

I admire your persistence! Unlike Barry Mannilow, however, I think you will remain One Voice on this particular issue.

Is giving takebacks merciful? A very much weaker player probably isn't going to avoid defeat no matter how many takebacks they get. What you're proposing is giving them the chance to essentially lose the same game over and over and over again in many different ways. Now that I call cruelty.

First he's got to get injured, then he's got to learn to cope and live with the disability for a while.

Maybe a better example would be a baby learning to walk.

no, never let any take backs. Players have plenty of time to think things through in Corresp. chess. if anything, ONLY in unrated games.
