A friend of mine had this idea :
why not give us the possibility to create a faster game, I know it's correspondence chess, but still...
So, a game with only timebank...
Let's say 12 hours or 24 hours, so you know the game will be finished in a day or two days.
Just an idea...
There are, after all, tournements with timebank games only.
@steelcat saidNot getting enough timeouts on 1/0 games?

@steelcat saidAs you rightly acknowledge, this is a correspondence style chess site. I would actually advocate for the opposite of your suggestion and scrap the 1-day time control. - Reduce the necessity of speed and likelihood of timeouts and encourage study and development.

If speed is your bag, play live chess.
@steelcat saidThis would put the site on the road to becoming something like the lichess site, which is an interesting thought.

I've always thought the blitz site here was mis-named, as the time control is very flexible, and two people wanting to play an online real-time game at a slower single time control could easily do so. I have considered having my real world club use it as a nice remote playing site. It could even be used for lessons/training.
Lots of possibilities!
@Steelcat
hugely agree ... its frustrating to put a 1 day + 0 TB game out there & someone picks
it up, someone who is moving 1x / 24 hrs ! ... why do these slugs want to clog up these games ?
@elassasino
Exactly my point, 0/24 is slower then real time and totaly different from blitz, in fact for me still correspondance chess and those who want to play 21/28 games can still do so...
@russ saidI can find realtime chess on lots of other sites. What I would like is correspondence games that would end within an agreed period of time. Something that could be done with games with timebank only.
The blitz chess feature will be replaced with something a little more substantial.
I'm currently, among other things, trying to find a suitable replacement technology to build upon for realtime chess.
