But I assume there is better suggestions around...? 😉
It would be the lower titles that may give concern
1200+ Average
1000+ Below average
800+ Poor
600+ Very poor
400+ Troll
200+ Absolute crap, go and play tiddly winks 🙂
Once a Title is earned, it would not ever be lost (except for proven computer program play).
So, once a user goes on a kick (either cheating, or a good run) to achieve a lofty title, then drops back to their 1400ish rating, the title remains as a permanent tool for gloating purposes?
How about this little revision then: Once a user has their permanent lofty title, they cannot enter tournaments for lower ratings when they drop to lower rating. Fair tradeoff, isn't it?

yeah, very cool suggestion! For instance, you get the rating, which might be a fluke for like 2 games, and then you are stuck with it. So, maybe it could be an option, like CLICK HERE if you WANT the TITLE of MASTER (Beware, if you accept this title, your tournament rating will never be lower than . . . .
How could a title be inflated? I think it's done all the time by players sitting on lots of move and lose games heading toward time outs. Admittedly you can only inflate so much, though, so i'm not sure of how big a problem it really is.
