Ok. My english is not perfect, so please be indulgent, and I'll do my best to get to the point.
I think there is too many tournaments available. A good friend of mine was so happy two weeks ago to tell me he had won an octet tournament, but as I told him, there is so many octets available each months, if you subscribe to all of them, you will win one someday, somehow... Specially in banded tournaments... It's the probabilities law...
I know that we are a lot of people playing here and we cannot limit the tournaments number, specially because many of them are long to finish. But what if each player have a maximum of tournaments that he can subscribe each months? Let's say 3, for example... So each month, there is at least 25 tournaments available, but you can subscribe to only three of them, at your choice. I think we could choose not only our tournaments, but also our opponents! I mean, the last 5 or 6 octets I played was against the same players!!!
Please get back to me on this. Maybe i'm wrong, give me your opinions, i'm just questionning...

A limited tourney would let you only enter one of these types of tourneys, while the many others are still open to the users who like to join them.
As it stands, tournaments take years to finish, so if you limit the number of tourneys you can join there will be tourneys started that no player can join, and that's too big a rule change and limitation on users who like to join several.
