Tournaments -- Mathamatical Certainties

Would it be possible to declare someone a winner in a Group of a Tournament when victory becomes a Mathamatical Certainty?

This would allow Tournaments to progress, without being hindered by lagging, irrelevant games. These games would still be played, but the next round of the Tournament could begin.

I agree with this idea, and think the same logic should be applied to clan challenges.
