@kingdavid403 saidTo me, THIS post sound like making things up in lieu of evidence.
No matter, they were extremely tedious in their copies and gone over dozens if not hundreds of times before approved. As I said, The penalty could be death if otherwise. They did not play around.
Also, in ALL days the books were well known to the people of that area and beyond. Even the great philosophers all read God's Holy Word that was written at that time. So ...[text shortened]... upting the youth.' Greece had many false gods at that time and as we know, they didn't mess around.
Even if it were done this way for 100 years in a row, there are still thousands more years of copying to account for.
If you tell me you know it was done this way for that entire time, I'll find that quite amusing.
@bigdoggproblem saidWell, I have studied this subject, and, I use to feel and think the same way as you. I have a 5 year Bachelors Degree in Theology with my Major in Biblical Studies. As I said, I have the proof siting next to me in huge books. It's been a couple years since I received my degree and it will take me some time to dig out the truth and help explain it better. I give my word I will seek it out. Give me a week or so.

@kingdavid403 saidYes. I don't remember the exact events (and am too lazy to Google) but I think the young Jesus also acted in a way that didn't gel with how he was presented in the other Gospels.
Those Gospels went much more into the early years of Jesus when a child. It was too magical for them. There were others also.

@ghost-of-a-duke saidCorrect. 🙂 He did supernatural miracles that a child would do at that age. Nothing sinful tho; just somewhat childish.

@kingdavid403 saidAh, I'm not sure about that.

I was motivated to do a cursory search and there were accounts of him in the Gospel of Thomas turning complaining neighbours blind and more troublingly, killing other children.
'When the son of a local scribe gets on kid Christ's nerves, Jesus declares that the child should "be withered like a tree, and shalt not bear leaves, neither root, nor fruit." So, the kid shrivels up and dies. On another occasion, Jesus curses a child to death after he bumps into him on the street. '
(The site I got this from is rather biased but still relates to the accounts laid out in that Gospel). - Can't link to the site as it contains a swearword. 😀
@ghost-of-a-duke saidlol.... Well, I couldn't say for-sure. I do know that if one wants to by copies of those Gospels that they can be found and bought. I have never read them so I don't know for-sure. I do know I have read some Catholic children's books with events based out of those Gospels. I don't remember Jesus killing anyone or blinding anyone tho. Doesn't sound right to me; however, I just don't know at this time.

How is the website you found biased? Anti-Catholic? Anti-Christian? Anti-Thomas Gospel? Etc?
Are you sure you or them are not mixing up the Great Prophets Elijah or Elisha with Jesus? I know kids were killed because of both of them at times, etc.

@kingdavid403 saidI think more 'anti the Jesus' presented in the Gospel of Thomas, as grounds for rejecting it.
