What are your thoughts on 50 cent & artists similar to him?
Have you heard some of the garbage that these performers are filling teen's minds with nowadays?
Some of the most recent tunes that 50 cent has put out are songs like "Just A Lil Bit" and "Candy Shop". Go to Yahoo.com and watch the music videos for these songs if you haven't heard the lyrics, it can be quite shocking.
How badly do you think this is affecting today's youth?

The TRASH that these rappers are dishing out goes against everything that our ancestors built this nation upon! You must realize that 50 cent isn't rapping in the UK... he's right here in the US!
I think this has quite a bit to do with religion. What solid Christian do you know that's jamming to Candy Shop?

50 Cent can rap about whatever he wants. It's not his job to regulate what Your children see and hear in Your house. That's Your responsibilty. Whether or not you consider it garbage is Your opinion. If you don't like it, don't listen to it. If you think it's filling teens heads with junk, just make sure your kid doesn't listen to it (and better block MTV too). Being an involved parent can make a difference.
Also, most of my friends like 50 Cent. So far this really isn't inspiring or presurring them to have sex. It doesn't seem to be affecting them at all actually. They're still the same people.
There are other things that are affecting todays youth too, not just music. If they don't hear it from 50 Cent, they're going to hear it on TV, the internet, or from their friends.
Just a note: I'm currently in exile in the States...
Edit: About a solid Christian listening to him, I see no problem with someones taste in music. Plenty of Christians I know listen to it, and it doesn't really have an affect on their faith either.
Edit 2: Love the profile, maybeONEday. 🙂
In response to your edit, many Christians that I know listen to all the modern rock / rap. That is why I threw in the term "solid" Christians.
It does affect your personality. This can either be a quick or a slow process, it varies.
Saying that listening to people like 50 cent won't affect you doesn't change the facts - it will slowly destroy you.
Originally posted by maybeONEdayVery Very Very slowly then. These guys have been listening to 50 Cent for several years, still the same. If anything about it affects them it's banging their heads back and forth to the rhythm. 😛

Well think about this:
Maybe they had this personality before 50 cent came along because they listened to the genre of music before 50 cent came along. I'm really not just targeting 50 cent, but rather the entire music industry.
Think how much better things would be without all these musical distractions.

But that is a complaint on infringment of the thought process by LOUD music and not a critical review of the content of lyrics that I have no intention of listening to, at least by choice.

HA!
You have definately mistaken my beliefs. I have studied Christianity, but it is not for me.
However, think how much better the porn online would be if everyone wasn't wasting their time listening to music!
Originally posted by maybeONEdayYo, I'm glad I got turned on to this here thread. I been listenin to Yo Yo Yo Ma and Bach and Rachmaninov and just realize what I been missin. I went ova to Yahoo like you said and I truly enjoyed that musical-visual expspariance. I certainly hope that Yo Yo Yo Ma can get some of them free-stylin street wenches ta back up his bad ass cello. Gives it a whole new meanin and all.
