Jeremiah 45:5 "Do you seek great things for yourself?"
It seems from Jeremiah 45:5 that we are not to ask for grandiose,
superfluous things to our Father in heaven. However...
Matthew 6:8 "Your Father knows the things you have need
of before you ask Him"
... henceforth, it appears to me that there is no danger in asking at
all, for He will provide us with all what we need spiritually and we
will slowly be drawn ever closer to Him, ceasing at some point to
ask things altogether and switching into praise mode.
Can I have a Hallelujah?

As with parents, you can ask for anything, but the answer is often "no".
