Without the creation of us mortals by a supreme being, wouldn't that being's existence be naturally incomplete? Doesn't a supreme being, if indeed there exists one, depend on his creation as much as his creation depends on him? With no one to lord over there is not even a single being to question his existence.
It seems to follow logically that such a being is incomplete with no one to praise/blame/feel indifferent toward him.
