America's "Original Sin"

Spirituality

America's "original sin", so the saying goes, is slavery. Is there still any spiritual baggage remaining from that era of history? It's not just a question for the U.S., of course. Slavery didn't end in Britain until 1884.

Thoughts?

Slaughtering a large percentage of America's indigenous population from sea to shining sea all through the 1800's might just qualify as "spiritual baggage remaining from that era of history"

How does this "baggage" manifest itself?
