Come on RJ,
"Human spirit? An atheist that believes in a human spirit, amazing!"...
Please tell me if you think atheist does not believe in human spirit?
Which atheist has ever told you we don't believe in human spirit?
We of course believe in human spirit, but we just don't believe it was handed to us by an Almighty, nor an Authority. Everybody is spirited. 😉

What is the spirit to the atheist?
1. I can't answer for 'all' atheists, but in my experience 'all' atheists still believe in a holy spirit. I can answer for my philosophy, which you know may or may not be termed as a religion or not according to different western interpretations.
My belief is that in death there is not the end of life, but it is merely the end of the body we inhabit in this life. Our spirit will still remain and seek out through the need of attachment, that being attachment to a new body and new life. Where I will be born is a result of my past and the accumulation of positive and negative action, and the resultant karma (cause and effect) which is a result of my past actions. ( You clearly understand my perspective 😉 )
So yes, I as an atheist believe spirit is life, and gives to life permanently.

I am Theravada Buddhist, i.e. your Normal Thai Buddhist.
If you understand Buddhism, then you will know that there is a belief in the human spirit, returning to the OP Question.
So I say again, atheists do believe in a human spirit.
I'm not getting into negative arguments either.
There's plenty to google to understand the uniqueness of Buddhism, and of how unthreatening it is to so called Godly Religions.
