@caesar-salad saidBrig. Alastair Gordon Lethbridge-Stewart: [observing a belly dancer]
As some might know, I've been in touch with the Arcturian Spider Crystals and they don't want the people of Earth anywhere near their holy thought matrices.
“Very fit, that girl. Extraordinary muscular control. Must adapt some of those movements as exercises for the men.”
The Doctor:
“They'd take some adapting!”
Dr Who: Planet of the Spiders
First broadcast in the UK: May - June 1974
Story: hyper intelligent spider comes to earth to reclaim a powerful crystal.
Post Script: this 6 episode adventure was the swan song for Jon Pertwee in the role and the end of a Dr Who era as many (including myself) still regard him as providing the best portrayal of the adventuring Time Lord.
@divegeester saidDid you see it in first run, or in syndication?

@suzianne saidFirst time round as a teenager, 13 years old.
Did you see it in first run, or in syndication?
I loved it.
@divegeester saidThat was two years before I was born. All my Doctor watching has been through syndication and DVD collections, after the fact, if you will.

Same with Star Trek, actually. I never saw any of that the first time 'round, either. Even TNG series.
Did you ever see 'Firefly'? What did you think of that?
@suzianne saidI hadn’t heard of it; I will try to get a look at it.

@divegeester saidThere was only one season of it, or as you guys say, one series, and then a movie to close it out.

I thought it was one of the better examples of sci-fi TV, though.
