'For if anyone thinks himself to be something, when he is nothing, he deceives himself.'
Galatians 6:3
Amen.
The same letter says - "For we by the Spirit out of faith eagerly await the hope of righteousness." (5:5)
Read the whole book sometime.
Buy a Oxford English Dictionary sometime.
Check the meaning of the word 'HOPE'.
It is used all over the writings of the Apostles.
HOPE. Is when you are not sure of something and you WAIT FOR IT.
Christians have a HOPE OF ETERNAL LIFE.
Christians MUST WAIT UNTIL THE DAY OF JUDGMENT.
Instead you arrogantly proclaim that you have eternal life already
You arrogantly proclaim that not even God and take that away.
You, like Satan claim to become God.
'For if anyone thinks himself to be something, when he is nothing, he deceives himself.'
Galatians 6:3
Amen.
Thank God we believers have Christ to be everything for us. Poor atheism.
The same book of Paul also says -
"But I say, Walk by the Spirit and you shall by no means fulfill the list of the flesh." (5:16)
That is walk by Christ. Walk by the Spirit of the indwelling Christ.
Walk by the life giving Spirit that the last Adam becamwe b](1 Cor. 15:45)[/b]
Walk by and in Christ the living Lord and you shall by no mean fulfill the various lusts of the flesh, Christ is victory as He dispenses Himself into man's being.
Read all of Galatians with the exercise of faith.
@ghost-of-a-duke saidYeah, but Paul had his problems.
'For if anyone thinks himself to be something, when he is nothing, he deceives himself.'

@kevin-eleven saidWhat monitoring? His last 6 posts have all responded to the same post.

@ghost-of-a-duke saidBut you kept track. How is that not monitoring?

Ediquette aside for a moment -
The deification of the believers goes along with their being glorified.
" Because those whom He foreknew, He also predestinated to be conformed to the image of His Son, that He might be the Firstborn among many brothers;
And those whom He predestinated,
these He also called;
and those whom He called,
these He also justified;
and those whom He justified,
these He also glorified." (Rom. 8:29,30)
In God's eternal viewpoint it has all already taken place. That is why Paul writes in the past tense here.
foreknew ---> predestinated ---> conformed ---> many brothers of the Firstborn Son of God.
OR
predestinated ---> called ---> justified ----> glorified (deified = made God in life and nature and expression but not in His Godhead). This God produces God-men.
The only argument I see is that some do not want to call glorified deified.
But what is the glory by which they are glorified?
According to the New Testament is " His [God's] eternal glory in Christ Jesus."
"But the God of all grace, He who has called you into His eternal glory in Christ Jesus . . . " ( 1 Pet. 5:10a
Let's see how the atheist will deny that the Bible teaches that the saved are called by the God of enabling grace "into His eternal glory in Christ Jesus".
KellyJay will see this post by you but won’t read it in case he is later pressed on whether he agrees with you and he can then claim he doesn’t know what you believe.
Courageous to the core.
Oh, he doesn't have to agree with me on EVERY SINGLE jot and tittle.
And I can make mistakes.
In the basics, I think, as Ephesians says we have "one hope of our calling"
I think you got body slammed by the enemy around the time the Holy SPirit encouragted you thorugh Nee's book Sit, Walk and Stand".
I think some test came and you got terribly discouraged.
Its ok, though,
That would be par for the course for many believers including Abraham, including Peter.
@sonship saidNobody has voiced agreement on your pending deification. Nobody.

We know that all those who received the Holy Spirit also received HIm as a pledge. That is a guarantee of a fuller enjoyment of God.
In fact the pledge of the Spirit within is a pledge UNTO something.
That means it is TOWARD something further.
The pledge of the Spirit of Christ within is with a view towards something MORE to come. That is eventually the complete inheritance of all that God intends to bestow upon His children.
"In whom you also, having heard the word of the truth, the gospel of your salvation, in Hims also believing, you were sealed with the Holy Spirit of the promise, Who is the pledge of our inheritance unto the redemption of the acquirted possession, to the praise of His glory." (Eph. 1:14,15)
The inheritance is that which he spoke of before as sonship -
Sonship implies having both the life and position of a son.
Seal means ownership.
Pledge is a garuantee.
Sonship is life and position of a son of God with His holiness permeating and no
blemish or foreign element of any kind to defile.
Matt.17:2 - “And He was transfigured before them, and His face shone as the sun, and His garments became white as the light.”
Jesus led three intimate disciples to get a glimps of Him coming in His kingdom which involved the saturation of His humanity with the divine glory.
Many Christians dont't realize that Christ's transfiguration was His coming in His kingdom. This was a preview deification of the Son of Man I speak of.
We'll see that what was concealed within Him temporarily shone through His being to give three disciples a foretaste of what both He and THEY were to experience, especially in the coming millennial kingdom.
This does not rob Jesus of Him being God in the flesh.
It shows transfiguration was a glimpse of that divinity overflowing and
permeating His natural humanity that He was incarnated into.
Stay tuned.
