And god said to the women "Thou shalt not wear a suit"
(Can't remember chapter or verse)

A spokesperson said
[i]Most people have dress codes at work. They have dress codes
for other things. They’re in place for a reason: so that there’s a
consistent, uniformly enforced dress code,”

That is brilliant!

"We have a dress code so that it can be uniformly enforced" 🙄

Catholic understanding. An oxymoron.

1 Timothy 2:9:

"I also want the women to dress modestly, with decency and propriety, adorning themselves, not with elaborate hairstyles or gold or pearls or expensive clothes".

It's not just a Catholic thing, it's a bible thing.

The thing is - what she wanted to wear (a white tailored suit)
was more modest than the dress they wanted her in!

I found one Catholic site that said pant suits are acceptable attire for females. Perhaps it is a local church thing based on traditional attire.

I can't see the link because a membership is needed for that particular story. The title in the URL mentions this was about a "Fashion-loving girl", which made it seem like an issue of perceived modesty.

I'm not suggesting that it is Catholic doctrine.
The "dress-code" is that of the local church.

The title of the thread is misleading.
