Christians versus Witches

Spirituality

One difference between Christians and Witches is that Christians will pray for you without your consent, but ethical Witches would never do that.

Another difference: witches don't kill Christians while Christians have hanged and burned witches

I'm not sure that's true, but who could blame them?

The underlying principle of all witchraft is to control people.

"Good" witchcraft or evil withcraft have this in common with all forms of witchraft - The attempt to control people with any spirit other than the Holy Spirit of God.

Why not go all in with pirates vs ninjas vs zombies?

Hmm, going back to front I think zombies are not likely to be either Christians or Witches.

Ninjas were magicians in a way, but I don't know if they and Christianity flourished at the same time in Japan.

Pirates could of course be both Christians and Witches (although it seems unlikely), or one or the other (still unlikely, but not impossible), or neither.

That is my understanding, which is why consent is central to the proposition I proposed.

The implication is that the target of prayers, no matter how well-intended, should be respected and consulted before one tries to change their situation with prayers, the same as with ethical magick or witchcraft.

Otherwise those who pray only respect themselves and God, and not the one or ones for whom they pray. And if the ones for whom they pray do not deserve respect, then why should those who pray -- the equals of the prayer-targets -- deserve respect or even respect themselves?

Granted, most Christians who offer petitionary prayers understand that The Most High has veto power, and will close with "Thy will be done."

Which of course doesn't stop them from also being arrogant and uppity for believing that they have "the correct belief." 😉

Yes. Historically Christians have tried to convert people of other faiths and beliefs to Christianity. If that didn't work they tried to kill them.

Probably because Christianty appeals most to egocentrics who want to live forever, whereas other people might have, for the sake of efficiency, skipped over the conversion step and gone straight on to sending death-spells tunnelling through the night air toward their adversaries. 😉

Yeah, and that doesn’t happen with Islam at all 🙄
