There is, and never has been a 'battle'. Maybe the media in the US gives you that impression? And quoting science results won't get you anywhere with creationists anyway. The only cure for creationism is a proper education.

Creationists refuse proper education for fear of losing their minds.

There was an idea put forward (think it was mentioned in the 'True Detective) that creationist type religion was akin to a 'language virus' that prevented sufferers from thinking rationally.

Oh RATS !!! I thought they were on to something.
There are a lot of steps needed to suss out how life began on Earth. I wouldn't be surprised if we find life on Mars or Europa or Enceledus before we figure out how life started here. I don't mean green skinned aliens, scientists would be more than thrilled to find bacterial life of some kind.
Then the game goes: Does it have Earth style DNA which would say something about the universality of life following the same general pattern as our double helix DNA we have here, or would it be yet another molecular method of encoding and decoding data to make proteins and such. That would tell a completely different story of the universality of life.

Once again you show little comprehension. That is speculation which can lead to good science, I wasn't writing a story which I included those ideas as a background of fact.
