Pope gets upset when woman grabs his arm, and of course, “apologises” later when he realises he looks like a grumpy prick on social media. Lovely corporate religion, haha!

@divegeester saidI watched the video. He was clearly seeking out the children to greet and at the point prior to the incident with the woman he was finished, apparent because he had turned away from the crowd. The woman actually pulled him back. In that instance, she violated his boundaries. In my opinion, he doesn't look like a grumpy prick. He looks surprised and clearly upset, yes, and his reaction was purely human. Anyone else might have reacted the same. This pope has made no excuses for being human and he did apologize for his reaction. I didn't relate it to policies or dogma of the Catholic Church.

@hakima saidOf course people can draw there own conclusions from the event as I have and as you have.

I would expect Roman Catholics or catholic sympathisers to be supportive and Protestants or Protestant sympathisers to not be supportive as default positions.
@rookie54 saidI thought he came off looking very ungracious and generally not at all like the Vicar of Jesus Christ. Which of course he isn’t anyway.
lol
i watched the video yesterday
she gave him a pretty good yank and he whacked her back and i am so grateful that CAMERAS ARE EVERYWHERE
and this children, is why you don't wanna be the top dog
everyone wants to eat you
@divegeester saidEnd of the day, we're all flesh and blood.

(Unless of course sir, the rumours about you are true).
😲
@ghost-of-a-duke saidBut some of us are placed upon or climb upon religious pedestals. It’s amusing (to me) when those people reveal a little of their non-pedestalianess.

@ghost-of-a-duke saidThe rumours about my alleged divisiveness have been grossly underestimated.

@divegeester saidI think anything that instils in us a little humility and reminds of our human frailties (bringing us down to Earth) has to be a good thing.

@ghost-of-a-duke saidI'm a firm believer in keeping my feet planted on the ground and my head in the clouds. 🙃

@divegeester saidI am Protestant and I support his action. The woman was clearly beyond the boundary in this case.

@suzianne saidShe just grabbed his hand/arm and he irritably slapped her away. I wouldn’t have done that. To me his actions revealed that he wasn’t being authentic in his outreach, he just wanted to look good on camera and failed epically.

@divegeester saidWas that in between his sermons on the evils of building walls or the evils of climate change?

@divegeester saidIf anyone could confront him and accost him, it would become a free-for-all. How many hundreds of Catholics were there hoping for a blessing from him? If there is no protocol, he could easily be mobbed and injured.

I'm not Catholic, either, but come on, he is an old man.
@whodey saidI’ve no idea.
