Known of his Socrates in the City guests and lectures talks about current contraversial themes - Metaxas talks about something he wrote that went viral beyond all expectations because people are hungry for the truth. They have been fed falsehoods too long.

"What people have been taking in, roughly in the last one hundred years are a number of false ideas at the heart of which are some false scientific ideas ... one of which is - we're just here. What's the big deal? ..."

Wow ... that crap about shaming the people who come in late.

I watched like 20 seconds of it, and then turned it off.

That guy is a sh|tty public speaker.

Is he "like Jesus"? Is "Jesus flowing through" him? He seems kind of repulsive.

Which scientists studying the Earth's history and evolutionary science are propagating this idea? Which scientists characterize their work as amounting to the question: "We're just here. What's the big deal?"

    He's too stiff.
    No he's too casual.

    Damned if you do.
    Damned if you don't.

    Too rigid and academic!
    Too folksy and casual!

"I turned it off immediately because it was too ------------ ?"

There's no need to be so brittle, sonship. Some people don't much like some guy you admire. So what?

Firstly, it's a 45 minute video about some topic you are interested in and about which you haven't set up a very clear premise to debate. 45 minutes ~ that's a lot of time to potentially waste on something. And the man comes across as arrogant and self important.

You can either listen to what people are saying or just continue to be all humphy about it.

Well folks now that you have seen how disliked the video is by the regular naysayers you know it must be good.

Pay less attention to style and grasp the true content of his evaluation of trends and the hunger of people to know what he wrote about.

I think most of the critics may have not gotten to the 10 minute mark, some of you can start around 6 minutes in.
