@medullah

Hang on a minute Sonship you have something wrong here.

My Nan became a JW, and she thought that once you are dead that was it; which is why she didnt believe in hell.

I understand. Correct me if I err.

Jehovah Witnesses believe that once you die there is NO intermediate realm of consciousness. But they do believe in a physical resurrection of the dead.

So I am not surprised that your relative rejected any kind of conscious existence once one is dead - hell, heaven, paradise, purgatory, or anything else. However, having said that, they do teach that the physical body will be resurrected.

Out of their own mouths -

Jehovah's Witnesses: What Happens After Death?

Now that is from their own mouths. If you want a critical Christian scholar's critique on Jehovahs Witnesses, I recommend practically any video or debate by Dr. James White. He really knows the group very well in a fair and balanced way.

This lecture is well worth listening to imo. Their positives and their negatives.

Understanding the Jehovah's Witnesses (Dr. James White)

You're good Son 🙂

That first video is pretty much what she said.

They do beleive in a paradise, in as much that the earth is to be restored into the paradise that it was meant to be before Adam sinned.

What I'll do is download the second youtube clip and have a listen (cheers).

I don't have a problem with them per say; I applaud the fact that they don't get involved in wars and stuff, and I remember my nan showing me a film called "the purple triangle" which documents how they were the biggest group (after the Jews) to be held in Hitler's concentration camps.

The largest group in the camps (after the Polish Jews) were Soviet prisoners of war.

3.) "Because the mind set on the flesh is death, but the mind set on the [regenerated human] spirit is life and peace." (Rom. 8;6)

The mind set on the born again human spirit is eternal life enjoyed today rather than the weakness of death. It is divine life and peace to learn to set the mind on the re-born human spirit. It is not the mind set on the spirit in the next age only will be life. Today, eternal life and peace can be ours.
Being in the Spirit is not eternal life. That idea is soo much baloney its no wonder your doctrine is such a mess. Many people were given the Holy Spirit of the Spirit of Christ. This as Jesus described is just a guide. It gives the believer certain gifts as described in the bible. But to claim that it is eternal life is nonsense.

Some who are given this Holy Spirit will not see the Kingdom of God and will not get eternal life, as Jesus stated plainly and as demonstrated by the Ananias and Sapphira.

Being in the Spirit is not eternal life.

The Spirit is called "the Spirit of life".
That is quite close to being in the Spirit is enjoying the eternal life.

"For the law of the Spirit of life as freed me in Christ Jesus from the law of sin and of death." (Romans 8:2)

The Spirit GIVES the divine like.
"Who has made us sufficient as ministers of a new covenant, ministers not of the letter but of the Spirit, for the letter kills but the Spirit gives life." ( 2 Cor. 3:6)

The Spirit OF the eternal divine life also GIVES the eternal divine life.

The Spirit that is of life and gives life is "a life giving Spirit"

"the last Adam became a life giving Spirit" (1 Cor. 15:45)

And again it is the Spirit that GIVES LIFE [eternal divine life which is Christ].

"It is the Spirit who gives life; ..." (John 6:63a)

Since the Spirit is the third "Person" of the Triune God - as that Father and the Son have life in Them SO also the Holy Spirit is of this eternal life also.

"For just as the Father has life in Himself , so He gave to the Son also to have life in Himself." (John 5:26)

"the law of the Spirit of life has freed me in Christ Jesus ..." (Rom. 8:2)

The Triune God as the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit give divine and eternal life.

"For just as the Father raises the dead and gives them life, so also the Son gives life to whom He wills." ( John 5:21)

"It is the Spirit that gives life, ..." (John 6:63a)

"[Christ] the last Adam became a life giving Spirit" (1 Cor. 15:45)

Jesus said that He Himself was the eternal life -
"Jesus said to him, I am the way and the reality and the life; no one comes to the Father except through Me." (John 14:6)

"Jesus said to her, I am the resurrection and the life ..." (John 11:25a)

And the Lord Jesus Christ has His pneumatic form and can bring the eternal life of Himself into us.

"Now the Lord is the Spirit, and where the Spirit of the Lord is there is freedom ..." (2 Cor. 3:17a)

The Spirit of life, the Holy Spirit is the Triune God finally reaching man on the inside to impart God as eternal life into man.

So eternal life is planted and growing withing the believer. AND eventually eternal lfie will swallow them up in life upon their outside as well -

" ... we who are in this tabernacle [body] groan, being burdened, in that we do not desire to be unclothed, but clothed upon, that what is mortal may be swallowed up by life." (2 Cor. 5:4)

Within and without the saved person's destiny is to be saturated, permeated with the Triune God as the life.

Having the Son is having the life, the eternal life.

" ... God gave to us eternal life and this life is in His Son. He who has the Son has the life; he who does not have the Son of God does not have the life.

I have written these things to you that you may know that you have eternal life, to you who believe into the name of the Son of God." (1 John 5:11b-13)

Pour out your heart sometime to Jesus, just calling Him "Eternity."
O, Eternity Jesus. O Lord Jesus. O Lord Eternity. Lord Eternity Jesus I LOVE You."

Eternal life is only for those who obey the commandments of Christ
Right now you preach disobedience to the commandments of Christ.
You are in line for eternal punishment unless you change your teachings

Do you realize that most people get cranky, nasty and bored after 60 years of living? And many commit suicide before even reaching 20. Now multiply 60 years by a billion, and it's not even close to eternity. You think you'd last even 1000 years without going mad?
