    Well, I haven't noticed a thread on the current UN summit on climate change.

    We all know the arguments, atmospheric CO2 partial pressure is increasing and it's been linked to a year on year increase in global mean annual temperature. This is suggested to be linked with the recent aberations in global weather patterns including (but not restricted to);

    Shrinking polar ice caps
    Increase in sea level (projected, although there is evidence of a slight rise already)
    Increased incidence of tropical stoms and hurricanes
    Increased incidences of drought (remember France 2003? 10,00+ deaths)

    as well as plausibly in the future;

    increased range of malarial mosquitoes (into southern europe principally)
    increased desertification.

    Strangley, not all nations currently recognise global change as a real phenomenon, and even many of those that do are not bound by the original Kyoto treaty, and it's unlikely that they;ll be bound by any new treaties.

    The biggest releasers of CO2 are;

    USA (25😡
    China (15😡
    Russia (7😡
    Japan (5😡
    India (4😡
    Germany (4😡
    UK (2😡
    Canada (2😡
    Italy (2😡

    The US has withdrawn from Kyoto, whilst China and India are not required to comply because they are 'developing countries'.

    Your thoughts???
