I sometimes feel that Christianity has beed grandfathered into the culture and no matter how primitive the belief might be it is accepted as legit because it has been around so long.

Hi buckky. how's it goin?

The power of group emotion and the power of group approval have been used in so many ways. For good and for bad. Good discrimination, "right thinking",
is important because the power is the same in different clothing.

In any realm, since human history began, only genuine articles get counterfeited.

All religions rely on that to some extent. A high percentage of all adherents get their religion from their parents.
Of course in some countries in Europe, I believe the religion has become part of the culture, but lost most of its believers. So people still call themselves Christian, but are in fact atheist. Similar to how Jews may be Jews culturally or Jews religiously.

All that's really required is that "believers" have X number of fellow adherents who hold similar beliefs and are willing to stroke each others egos by telling each other how "right" they are. It doesn't seem to matter how absurd the belief might be. This applies to pretty much anything - not just Christianity.

I,ll say it again.....any religion that supports the slaughter of animals is bogus.

Any religion that says the soul is created at birth is bogus.

Any religion that says we only have one life is bogus.

Any religion that says that after death we go to hell for not following them is bogus.

Any religion that does not give women the same opportunities is bogus.

Any religion that teach that only humans have souls is bogus.

Any religion that says that their leader is God is bogus.

Any religion that says the creation is 6400 yrs old is bogus.

Any religion that says they can raise the dead from their grave is bogus.

Any religion that says their leader caused the lame to walk and the blind to see is bogus.

Any religion that was formed on the basis of a person speaking to an angel the night before is bogus.

Any religion that says the fall of man was due to a man eating an apple is bogus.

Any religion that says that the people not in their religion are infadels and must be killed is bogus.

Any religion that places a person in power through the election process is bogus.

Any religion that cannot raise the consciousness of a person to the transcendental platform and cause them to reject gross materialism is bogus.

Any religion that does not require there adherents to obstain from meat eating, gambling, illicit sex and intoxication is bogus.

Any religion that accepts the therory of evolution is bogus.

And a religion that says you can do all the above and get a ticket to heaven is also bogus.

Etc etc

Forget how you feel and go with the facts.

Feelings are fickle. One can't argue with the facts.

But they do here.

Au contraire. All religions the world has ever known or ever will know are by definition horizontally man made, truth mixed with error and ceremonious self righteousness by which man through his own efforts seeks to gain the approbation of God. All religions counterfeit Christianity in which God has already done the work and offers a matchless grace gift without strings to mankind.

Your original claim remains false. It is perfectly possible to counterfeit non-genuine articles, and it has been done.

Obviously here you are trying to twist the meaning of counterfeit to try and get it to fit your aim which is to highlight your belief that Christianity is 'genuine' and all other religions are not. Sadly, you are so desperate to make the point, that you don't mind telling untruths along the way.

Absolute divine truth was available before we arrived on the world scene and will still be here after we're gone. During our brief sojourn on earth we, individually, have an opportunity to apprehend it to our permanent benefit in time and eternity. Failure to do so accrues to the peril of our immortal souls. Please read the small book written decades ago by C.S. Lewis, "Mere Christianity".

Note: "... to fit your aim which is to highlight your belief that
Christianity is 'genuine' and all other religions are not."

Twhitehead, Christianity isn't a religion. It's a personal relationship.

Bit of a rubbish 'gift' though.

Your supposed god thinks to itself "ooh I wonder what I should do to people who eat naughty apples? I know! I'll banish them from the magic garden, hit them with random acts of divine malevolence like global flooding, say, and banish unbelievers to hell; then at some point in the future I'll send my son to kill himself to pay for Adam eating naughty apples."

Much better would be tissue. My nose is running with a sodding cold (courtesy of the fall...cheers Adam!).

What are the facts pertaining to Christanity ? I thought it was based on faith ?
