"Highest form of humanity"

I just listened to a eulogy for Riley Howell who ran at the gunman in the recent UNC Charlotte shooting and knocked him off his feet: something that eventually helped police arrest the suspect and probably saved lives.

"What he did was the highest form of humanity."

Is that true to your way of thinking?

"There is no greater love than to lay down one's life for one's friends". John 15:13

Is it the "highest form of humanity" though?

The "highest form of humanity" is a rather elusive term, so I couldn't say for sure.

Elusive things make for good cud chewing.

Definitely. It is the one thing that qualifies someone for the Kingdom of God.

A "higher" form of humanity is that which causes the citizen to risk his own life, to stop the execution of the killer.
