The context for this thread topic is beliefs related to the so-called Big Questions that are often discussed on this forum. You can decide which ones you have in mind if you participate.
To what extent do you feel your opinions, 'answers', and beliefs are cut and dried?
Does it matter if they are?
Does it depend on which Big Question is being asked?
For the purposes of this topic, 'accusations' of having a "closed mind" about this that or the other are preemptively declared to be dull and unnecessary.
-Removed-“Cut and dried” factor 5 on the nature/origin of consciousness and our unique personhoods.
“Cut and dried” factor 6 on the existence of a creator being.
“Cut and dried” factor 7 on the source, evolution, and function of morality.
“Cut and dried” factor 8 on the baffling and hugely ubiquitous assumption that the existence of a creator being 'logically' means there is the opportunity for everlasting life.
“Cut and dried” factor 10 [max] - at least until something dramatic happens or something irresistible is explained to me - on the idea that there are things that I must do or think in order to prepare for an "afterlife".
