I got fed up with the guy lying.

1.
Atheists do not have "a big problem" if they
can't explain the origin of the universe.

2.
I doubt anyone believes in the multiverse
in the same way some believe in gods.
It's just one possible theory.

Damn, whodey, PragerU is one of the biggest right-wing propaganda outlets on the web.

Looking over the list of just what they endorse and just what they attack tells anyone everything they need to know about this group. I also recognize some of the more idiotic arguments you've tried to float in the Debates Forum in the past.

From Wikipedia:
"In a video entitled, "Why Did the Democratic South Become Republican?", host Carol M. Swain, a professor at Vanderbilt University, argued that the Southern strategy–the Republican Party's strategy of purposely exploiting racial tensions in the late 1960s to appeal to racist white Southerners–was false revisionism. Kevin M. Kruse, a professor of history at Princeton University, said that the video presented a "distortion" of history, "cherry-picked" its evidence, and was an "exercise in attacking a straw man".

"Alex Nowrasteh of the Cato Institute criticized an anti-immigration PragerU video by Michelle Malkin. Nowrasteh said that the video was "rife with errors and half-truths, leaves out a lot of relevant information, and comes to an anti-legal immigration conclusion that is unsupported by the evidence presented in the rest of the video."

"Regarding the PragerU video "The Suicide of Europe" by Douglas Murray, ADL fellow Mark Pitcavage has said that he doesn't consider it fascist or white nationalist, but that the video is prejudiced, and he says that it contains anti-immigrant and anti-Muslim rhetoric that would certainly be agreeable to white supremacists.

"Vanity Fair said PragerU "Packages right-wing social concepts into slick videos" and that PragerU was, "One of the most effective conversion tools for young conservatives."

"Sociologist Francesca Tripodi described the effect of PragerU's videos in a report for the Data & Society Research Institute. According to Tripodi, "PragerU's choice of guests connects their audience to 'far-right' and 'alt-right' personalities" when these personalities also appear on the programs of PragerU's guests, and are promoted by YouTube's recommendation algorithm. Tripodi wrote that "content creators like PragerU are not only exploiting the practices of scriptural inference, but also relying on search engine optimization and suggested content to elevate their messaging" and that PragerU's content "allows for those who identify as mainline conservatives to gain easy access to white supremacist logic." Having grown up during the civil rights movement I couldn't help but notice that when Lyndon Johnson signed major civil rights legislation into law the "Southern Democrats" quite quickly became Republicans. And the Party of Lincoln welcomed the Southern Bigots into the fold.

Wow.

You mean liberal universities that shout down conservatives and throw out conservative teachers and refuse to let conservative speakers disagree with those on Prager U?

The hell you say.

Naturally, anyone you disagree with instantly becomes a racist.

You are all a sick hate filled bunch.

Leftists are more consumed about race than Hitler ever was.

Hell, I just offered a video about the beginning of the universe and it turns to race?

You are all nuts.

FYI, PragerU is not an acedemic institution of any kind. Fooled you, though, huh? That's why they use that name. To fool the gullible.

@whodey

As a stand alone little lecture, I liked it.

But believing in God, I am not sure is a "leap".
For me it is a stepping off of a ledge and a real HAND is there to catch you.

I am not comfortable with the phrase "Leap of faith" or "Blind leap of faith" about receiving Christ. This is the outsider to the experience of God looking at believers, trying to make some sense of it.

As for bare theism, I am not sure it is a "leap" into the dark blindly either.

Now, about Prager U, I know nothing.
Didn't matter in terms of the content of the short video there.

Well, other than that......
Did you notice the plea for money, not for the Uni, San Diego but for the Prager scam, I mean U?
Did you also notice he has a bit of Nobel prize envy? He wrote a book about losing the Nobel prize. Hmm....
It starts out SOUNDING like a nice little science post but then morphs into Goddidit. Some scientist.

So sonhouse ...

You believe there could be another universe, or infinitely many more ?

Or are you just hunting for some other stuff to grumble about ?

I leave it up to evidence but there are anomalies in the CBR issue, circular patterns in the temperature data that may indicate another universe 'bouncing' off ours in some higher dimensional framework.
There are also hypotheses about black holes, a known feature of our universe where they create a gravity well so deep not even light can escape. That means the stuff of space is malleable by mass, mass bends space and in a black hole that is in the extreme and think now goes the other end of the black hole, the stuff that gets squashed down there, does not just hang out but bursts into another universe, that is to say, CREATES a new universe, like seeds popping into trees.
So under that scenario OUR universe came from a previous parent black hole and our universe creates yet new universes ad infinitum.
Don't get me wrong, I don't advocate for such a scenario, I just say it is a possibility and will remain hypotheses till further evidence shows up either refuting or supporting it. Of course that may take a thousand more years of science development along with technological development to make anything of all that so I feel sure there will be not much further along those lines in our lifetime.
If all that were true, it would push back the origins of the whole shebang to an infinite amount of time past. That alone leaves me dizzy thinking about that possibility. One thing for sure, we live in a crazy universe.
